Leon Marcel Kahl focuses his practice on international arbitration and litigation. He has advised clients in numerous high-stake cases under a range of applicable laws and arbitration rules (including the ICC, LCIA and DIS Rules).

Leon Marcel Kahl has particular experience in disputes involving parallel proceedings in different jurisdictions, international proceedings before state courts, and enforcement proceedings against states.

Before joining PARAGON, he gained experience working for an internationally renowned law firm in Munich and a US-based international law firm in London as well as a lawyer admitted to the bar of the German Federal Supreme Court. He also gained extensive academic experience as a research assistant in the department for European and Comparative Procedural Law of the Max Planck Institute for Procedural Law in Luxembourg.

Leon Marcel Kahl has published on a wide range of areas of law, including issues in procedural law, arbitration, corporate law, property law and technology as well as comparative law.

He studied law in Germany (Heidelberg University) and Ireland (Trinity College Dublin) and received several merit-based scholarships and prizes. He participated in, and coached teams for, the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and has also given workshops on arbitration at two German universities.

At present, he is pursuing a habilitation at the University of Vienna. He is admitted to the German Bar.
