VIAC Templates & Examples published on Kluwer Arbitration

We are delighted to share the release of the VIAC chapter of the newly launched Kluwer Arbitration Templates & Examples, co-authored by 4 members of our team: Alice Fremuth-Wolf, Brian Gabriel-Oiwoh, Helmut Ortner and Lucia Chavan. Special thanks go to the general editor of this contribution, Katherine Simpson, as well as to VIAC Deputy Secretary General Anna Förstel-Cherng, for her insights regarding VIAC’s current practices, and to Vincent Verschoor and the Kluwer team for their support.

What makes this contribution particularly valuable is the breadth of experience behind it. Collectively, the authors bring the perspectives of:

  • a former Secretary General of the VIAC, offering insight into the institutional administration of arbitration proceedings;
  • experienced counsel, drawing on years of representing parties in VIAC proceedings; and
  • seasoned arbitrators, contributing practical perspectives from the tribunal’s side of the process, as well as from tribunal secretaries perspective.

Combining these three vantage points, the chapter guides readers trough every stage of a VIAC arbitration – from the commencement of proceedings to the publication of the final award – pairing practical advice with the templates and drafting examples practitioners need along the way.

We warmly congratulate Helmut, Alice, Brian, and Lucia on this achievement, and are proud that our team continues to contribute resources that shape best practices in international arbitration and support arbitration practitioners around the world.
